108 Divyadesam - 101) Tiruchalagramam ( Mukthinath )

Moolavar: Sri Mukti Narayana Perumal Thayaar: Sridevi Nachiyar Vimanam: Kanaka Vimanam Pushkarani: Chakra Theertham / Sahasradhaare Travel: To reach this kshethram one must reach Pokhara in Nepal. From Pokhara, they must fly into Jomsom. From Jomsom, they will have to reach the temple by mini-bus / van. Azhwar Pashuram: Tirumangaiazhwar: 10 Pashuram Periya Azhwar: 2 Pashurams Total: 12 Pashurams Sthala Puranam: According to legend, it is said that Gandaki Nadi performed tapas to the Lord. When the Lord appeared before her, she asked that He stay in her womb always. The Lord told her that as she is a river, her riverbed represents her womb. He told her that He would reside in the stones at the bottom of the river in the form of Shalagramam. To date whenever a devotee visits this kshethram they take back with them the various kinds of shalagramams.

Surrounding the temple there are 108 springs called Sahasradhare which are perennial and have pure water throughout the year. The water is considered to be holy thus, whenever a devotee visits this kshethram they perform prokshanam of this water at each of the 108 springs.
