It is also believed that Pulastya Muni performed tapas at this kshethram to have children. This Lord is believed to guide souls who have left the blazing body in the venture of Vaikuntham. The Lord is said to throw water like a ( cloud ) every step of the way so that the road to Vaikuntham is cool.
